The current men’s National Amateur Billiards Champion and No 1 on the National Rankings Wayne Doyle paid a visit to the RILSA Academy recently.

Wayne who is one of Ireland’s top Billiard Players on the circuit, is currently World Ranked number 18 and is heading off soon to try and increase his ranking at the UK Billiards Championship in Landywood.  Wayne has been at number 9 in the past on the World Rankings and is very capable of a top 8 place or higher as his standard of play is getting better each season

Having beaten a few former World Champions during his time on the WBL tour, Peter Gilchrist and Mike Russell just to mention a few.

Wayne was welcomed to the RILSA Academy by the Chairperson of Female Cue Sports Ireland, Dan Carroll and during his time at the Academy he showed his skill at Billiards and in particular the top of the table where he scored 61 points in a few minutes and then an 89 score in 15 minutes in a mini match.

We had half of our Female players from our Tour present and they were delighted to meet Wayne and watch how he plays.  During the visit Wayne gave a demonstration of top of the table play to our players and they enjoyed the skills and took on board his advice that Wayne imparted during his time at the Academy.  Dan thanked Wayne for his help and support and we hope to see him back in the near future

In the meantime everyone wished Wayne the very best of luck in Landywood and will keep an eye out on his play in events going forward
