Joanna Ward from Kildare won the first RILSA National Intermediate Snooker Ranking event of the season at the RILSA Academy Sharkx Newbridge recently
On her way to the final Joanna Ward from Kildare saw off a good challenge from Christine Carr from Kildare in the Quarters and Tina Keogh from Offaly in the Semis, both matches were very close indeed but Joanna closed out both matches on the colours for a place in the Semis
Our newcomer to the tour Anna McKeown from Monaghan and playing out of the Donaghmoyne Snooker Club saw off Brigid Mulvany from Dublin in their semi final match to meet Joanna in the final.
In the final for the most part the both players kept in touch in scores however Joanna showed her experience in the frame needed to take the win on the day and claim her Gold Medal. Anna was delighted with Silver and it was a great experience for her
Congratulations to Joanna on her win and well done to Anna on her runner up place. Thanks to all the ladies for their support. Thanks to Stephanie Foley for refereeing the final and thanks as always to Bernie, Paul and staff of Sharkx for all their support
