Louise Jordan from Meath retained the Maureen Butler Cup title at the RILSA Academy Sharkx Newbridge recently.  The final would see Louise take on Megan Randle from Wicklow again in a similar fashion as the 2020 match.

In the quarters Megan Randle from Wicklow had a close match against Stephanie Foley from Carlow taking the win 2 frames to nil for a place in the semis.  Annette Newman from Carlow had a good 2 nil win over Valerie Maloney from Laois to meet Megan in the semis.

At the other end of the draw we saw Louise Jordan from Meath go through to the semis with a good 2 nil win over Sandra Bryan from Wexford in yet another close encounter while Christine Carr and Joanna Ward both from Kildare fought it out to a final frame and black ball finish in which Christine won to meet Louise in the semis.

Megan played well to take the first frame against Annette but Annette replied well in the second to level the match.  The 3rd frame could have gone either way as both players kept it close to the final few colours with Megan taking the pink for frame and match and advance to her second Maureen Butler final in a row.

Louise would see of a good challenge from Christine to take their match 2 frames to nil and once again meet Megan in the final for the second year in a row.

The final saw both players playing cagey for the most part with Louise taking frame 1 but Megan responded well to level the match, however frame 3 would again see the colours come into play as the scores were close but Louise finished strong to take the frame and Maureen Butler Cup title for the second year in a row.

Congratulations to Louise on retaining the Maureen Butler Cup title and well done to Megan for her fine performance in reaching the final once again.  Thanks to all the ladies for their participation and to Bernie, Paul and staff of Sharkx for all their support.
