Margaret O’Driscoll from Kerry won the recent RILSA Kildare Snooker Open Ranking Event at the RILSA Academy Sharkx Newbridge

At the last 16 stage of the event Annette Newman from Carlow had a 2 nil win over Brigid Mulvany from Dublin for a Quarter final place.  Veronica Hallahan from Dublin had a 2 nil win over Qianhui Ye from Wicklow to advance. Margaret Browne from Meath took a 2 nil win over Valerie Maloney from Laois for a Quarter final spot and Elizabeth Lynch from Offaly went through over Delia Keane from Dublin to complete the top half of the draw

In the bottom half of the draw Jackie Trulock from Dublin had a good 2 nil win over newcomer Natalia Trochonowicz from Kildare.  Christine Carr from Kildare went through over Savannah Keane from Dublin.  Margaret O’Driscoll from Kerry took a 2 nil win over Lynda Curley from Offaly to advance and  Claire Mill from Dublin had a 2 nil win over Tina Keogh from Offaly to complete the Quarter Final line up

Annette took frame 1 against Veronica but Veronica responded to level the match 1-1 on a black ball, the 3rd frame went down to another black ball which Veronica potted to secure the win and her first Semi Final place on the Amateur Snooker Tour.  Elizabeth was in form against Margaret Browne taking the win 2 frames to nil to meet Veronica in the semis

Jackie continued her form against Christine taking the win 2 nil for her first semi final place on the tour also.  Margaret O’Driscoll had to play well against Claire to take the win 2 frames to nil to complete the semi final line up

Elizabeth played solid snooker against Veronica in the semis and with a 22 break along the way secured the 2 nil win for her first Final spot on the Amateur Snooker Tour.  Margaret continued her form against Jackie and with a 28 break secured her final place taking the match 2 frames to nil

In the final Elizabeth had chances to take the lead in the first however experience played well for Margaret to take the frame and in the second frame Margaret turned up a gear to take it and the title of RILSA Kildare Snooker Open Champion 2025

Congratulations to Margaret on her win and well done to Elizabeth on her first final place on tour also well done to both Jackie and Veronica who made great progress on tour this season.

We welcome Natalia Trochonowicz to the tour and with Qianhui we now have two young prospects for the future.  We have a number of young girls from our Schools looking to play on tour in the near future, watch this space
