10 young girls from the Holy Family School Newbridge completed a basic course in both Snooker and Billiards at the RILSA Academy Sharkx Newbridge recently where they received their certificates
The course was designed and conducted by Dan Carroll and Aidan Murray in order to give these young ladies the opportunity to help assist the current Introductory Level Coaches at their School and increase interest among the 750 strong student attendees
The girls will be able to get the snooker table set up for snooker or billiards and help look after it by keeping it brushed along with providing the basic knowledge of the rules of both cue sports.
This will ensure that there is always someone available to help supervise the table when in use at the school.
The Coaches at the School Kathleen Reddy and Marie Condon will be conducting coaching sessions and organising events when the School is back in September 2024
We congratulate Sadie Daly, Sadhbh Simpson, Isabella Smith, Aoife Murphy, Niamh Shannon, Elsie Whelan, Anna Mulpeter, Aoife Martin, Lily O’Connor and Roisin Douglas on successfully completing the course and we wish them well for the future and thank them along with their coaches for their support and help in developing female cue sports
