Annette Newman from Carlow won her 4th National Amateur Billiards Ranking event of the season, the Sharkx Masters recently. This is Annette’s 4th win out of 6 on tour this season and was runner up in the other two events, showing great consistency on tour.
In this round robin timed event Annette Newman from Carlow got off to a winning start against Jackie Trulock from Dublin in a close encounter 53-49. Jennifer Earle from Dublin had a good win over Veronica Hallahan from Dublin on the alarm 59-21. A clash of two Kildare players Christine Carr and Joanna Ward finished in a close match 55-46 in favour of Joanna
Session two saw Annette continue her winning form against Veronica on the alarm 67-31, Joanna had a good win over Jackie on the clock 51-40 and Christine got over the line in the final seconds against Jennifer 57-51 in another close match
In session three Annette got her 3rd win under her belt against Jennifer on the alarm 66-35, Christine had a close encounter with Jackie in a low scoring game finishing 38-29 on the alarm and Joanna had a close match against Veronica to take the win on the alarm46-39
Session 4 got off to a good start for Joanna taking the win against Annette on the alarm 64-42. Christine had another close match against Veronica taking the win 41-35 and Jackie upped her scoring against Jennifer to take the win on the alarm 67-40
The final session saw Christine up her scoring against Annette to take the win 68-38, Jackie just got over the line against Veronica on the alarm 38-31 in a low scoring game. Jennifer got her second win on the evening against Joanna on the alarm 55-47
With the scores tallied it was Annette who got the overall win and just by 3 points against Joanna who finished in runner up spot.
