Over the past 10 years the Republic of Ireland Ladies Snooker Association now under Female Cue Sports Ireland due to the establishment of ladies Billiards and Pool have reached a new milestone in the Organisations Membership now exceeding 1000 members

This increase in membership is all down to the many initiatives that were introduced over the years to encourage more females into cue sports

385 girls have competed in junior events at National Level with a further 115 girls participating in our Special Needs Category events along with many playing in other events in our various tours in both snooker and billiards.  Pool has seen a huge increase in female participation across Ireland over the past 10 years with over 70 females participating on the IPA tour along with a number of Counties holding events for females in Pool

Many of these Pool players joined RILSA and added to the success of our promotions

Our National Amateur Snooker has seen 602 females participate in events and 537 females participated on the National Intermediate Snooker tour over these years

At present our member schools are holding events within the school system and the numbers taking up cue sports is increasing all the time.  We now have to qualify females for a number of our events via the school leagues etc going forward

Our National Billiards tours in Amateur and Intermediate has seen 42 females participate in events with an increase in numbers taking to Billiards from our school programme

The next 10 years will see us expand to many more schools across Ireland.  Currently we have introduced and put in place tables into schools which 20,000 female students have now access to with more to follow.  During Covid-19   a number of schools had to increase space and the full size tables had to be stored away, however we are back making contact with our member schools to have the tables back in use over the coming months

A two year Horizon Scholarship for 8 girls is currently underway  at our Academy Sharkx Newbridge where they will receive coaching and table time during this time.  Along with this Scholarship we are looking to our schools to attend trial days at our Academy during the year ahead

The Scholarship at Maynooth University is another great initiative that will help encourage girls to get involved in cue sports, with an opportunity to help some young girl to attend College and have access to practice and coaching during her time there.

Thanks to WIS at Sport Ireland who helped us develop and promote Female Cue Sports over the past two years

So a lot of work to do in 2025 to expand our Organisation as we make progress with our planned strategy
