We are delighted to have St Leo’s All Girl School Carlow on board as one of our many School Academies for Female Cue Sports across Ireland.
With a table in situ and two Female Cue Sports Coaches at the school, its all go for St Leo’s to get started with their promotions and developments.
With Sinead Millward and Fiona Farrell having completed the Introductory course in 2024, they set about organising events for the girls.
Dan Carroll the Chairperson of Female Cue Sports Ireland and World Snooker Coach held a workshop at St Leo’s recently with much excitement among the 20+ girls who signed up to the Organisation and many more showing interest in cue sports
With close on 1000 girls at the school at any one term its so important to engage with these schools and provide facilities to help encourage and increase participation in cue sport even if its just at school level.
As Women In Sport at Sport Ireland are promoting the 4 pillars for Females in Sport, we at Female Cue Sports Ireland are very much in favour of setting the bar high on all 4, Coaching, Participation, Governance and most important is visibility
Thanks to our coaches Sinead and Fiona and the Principal of St Leos Niamh Broderick, all the teachers and girls for their support and interest in having us part of their school sports
