As the RILSA 2020 – 2021 Intermediate Snooker Season draws to an end we saw great improvement in a number of players making progress on the Intermediate Tour.
Emirjeta Doda from Dublin returned to the top 8 in 8th place up from 10th last season. Valerie Maloney from Laois made great progress back in the top 8 from last years number 21 spot to take 7th place this season. The Irish number 1 Christine Carr from Kildare dropped to number 6 this season but still had a good season as she remains within the top 8.
Jennifer Earle from Dublin dropped two places from 3rd to 5th this year and like Christine did well to stay within the top 8. Megan Randle from Wicklow had a great season moving up from 24th to take a top 4 spot at 4th this season. Joanna Ward from Kildare only dropped 1 place from 2nd to 3rd again a good result for her. Carrie Randle from Wicklow moved from 20th to number 2 in Ireland this time round and a first for her to finish this high on the National Intermediate rankings.
Stephanie Foley from Carlow who finished 5th last season and her highest Intermediate ranking since she started some 4 years ago has taken the number 1 spot for the first time showing her improvement in Intermediate Snooker, a fantastic result for the Carlow woman.
Congratulations to Stephanie on her great achievement as Irish Intermediate Snooker number 1 for the first time and also well done to twin sisters Carrie and Megan Randle for reaching the top 4 in Ireland also for the first time. Thanks to all our players who participated and kept Intermediate Snooker going during a very testing time for our sport during the 2020-2021 season.
Thanks to Bernie, Paul and staff of Sharkx Newbridge for all their help and continued support towards female cue sports.
We look forward to seeing our players back on the baize during 2021
