Stephanie Foley from Carlow won her second National Intermediate Billiards Title at the RILSA Academy Sharkx Newbridge recently in a very close contested round robin event.

Session 1 saw the current National Intermediate Champion and number 1 Valerie Maloney from Laois take a good win over the in form Tina Keogh from Offaly 46-31 on the alarm.  Stephanie Foley from Carlow won her first match against Jennifer Earle from Dublin who struggled to score in their match as there were very little opportunities available with good safe play from Stephanie taking the win 37-9 on the clock.

The second session saw Jennifer up her game against Valerie who would just pip Jennifer on the alarm 36-31 in a low scoring match, while Stephanie and Tina’s match would go to the final seconds with Tina taking the win on the alarm 45-43

The 3rd and final session would see Stephanie take her second win of the evening against Valerie on the clock 39-33 while Jennifer continued her improving scoring to take the win against Tina 43-36.

When the scores were tallied only 7 points separated 1st to 3rd with Stephanie on 119, Valerie on 115 and Tina on 112.

Congratulations to Stephanie on her win and well done to Valerie on taking the runner up spot.  Thanks to all the girls for their participation and support.  Thanks to Dave and Joe for helping out refereeing and a special thanks to Bernie, Paul and staff of Sharkx for their continued support.
