Stephanie Foley from Carlow won the first National Intermediate Billiards Ranking event of the new season recently.

The event was played in a timed round robin basis

Session 1 saw Delia Keane from Dublin taking the win against Veronica Hallahan also from Dublin in a close contest 40-30 on the alarm.  Jackie Trulock from Dublin won her match against Savannah Keane from Dublin 44-18

In session 2 Stephanie Foley from Carlow was in good form against Jackie and took the win on the alarm 71-19 and Veronica had a close encounter in a low scoring match against Savannah taking the win on the alarm 32-27

Session 3 saw Stephanie having to draw on experience with 10 minutes on the clock to move ahead of Savannah to take the win 55-36 while Jackie pipped Delia on the alarm 45-37 for the win

The 4th session saw Delia up her scoring towards the final minutes to take the win over Savannah 55-14 and Stephanie continued her winning form with the win over Veronica 42-30 in a low scoring match

The 5th and final session of the evening saw Jackie take the win on the alarm 56-33 against Veronica and Stephanie would make it a clean sweep with her 4th win against Delia 59-26

With the scores tallied, it would be Stephanie who would win the first National Intermediate Billiards event of the season followed by Jackie in runner up place and Delia in a close 3rd place
