The second session of coaching in both Snooker and Billiards was met with great excitement and another successful day at the RILSA Academy Sharkx Newbridge as we continue to progress our All Girl School initiative whereby we introduce young girls to cue sports
Again Aidan Murray, Dan Carroll and Annette Newman were on hand to explain the basic rules of both Snooker and Billiards along with a demonstration of the bridge hand and bridge arm, grip, stance and striking the cue ball in the centre
The girls were asked to set up the balls for Snooker and then all coaches visited each table where the girls were guided in the basics of cue sports in a very professional manner.
The coaches delivered a very worthwhile exercise in their explanations and demonstrations with the girls picking up the basics and they really enjoyed their day at the Academy
Thanks to Dearbhail and all the teachers from the Holy Family School for their support and especially to all the girls for their attention and participation, many will return to play cue sports
Thanks to Bernie, Paul and staff of Sharkx for all their support and well done to Aidan and Annette who officiated throughout the day
