Annette Newman from Carlow wins the RILSA National 6 Red Snooker Championship title and for a second time since its inception in 2015
At the prelim round Elizabeth Lynch from Offaly had a match on her hands with Natalia Trochonowicz from Kildare with the match level at 1-1 it would go all the way to a pink ball decider in the 3rd frame and it would be Elizabeth who would go through
At the Quarter final stage Annette Newman from Carlow had a 2 nil win over Brigid Mulvany from Dublin to advance and Valerie Maloney from Laois would see off a challenge from Veronica Hallahan 2 nil to meet Annette in the semis
At the other end of the draw Jackie Trulock from Dublin had a good 2 nil win over Grushenka Arnold from Wicklow and with the same scoreline Elizabeth Lynch from Offaly went through over Christine Carr from Kildare to complete the semi final lineup
Annette took frame 1 on the black ball and had to call on all her experience to get over the line with a 2 nil win over Valerie who was playing well on the day
Elizabeth was in the same position against Jackie but came through with a 2 nil win to meet Annette in the final
In the first frame Elizabeth took it on a blak ball but Annette came back with good scoring in the second to level the match. It would go all the way to yet another black ball finish and with Annette left with a black along the cushion from distance she went for it and it went straight into the pocket for frame and match
Congratulations to Annette on her win and well done to Elizabeth on her runner up place. Thanks to all the ladies for their support, it was good to see Grushenka back playing on the tour.
