Annette Newman from Carlow claimed her 3rd RILBA National Amateur Billiards Ranking event of the season when she won the 4th event the Kildare Open at the RILSA Academy Sharkx Newbridge recently
This timed knockout event saw Jackie Trulock from Dublin take the win against Brigid Mulvany also from Dublin finishing on the alarm with a comfortable score line of 106 to 41
In the semi finals Annette Newman from Carlow saw off a challenge from Jackie Trulock from Dublin who kept in touch with Annette for the most part however Annette scored well towards the final minutes to finish on the alarm 111 to 76 for a place in the final
On the other table Christine Carr from Kildare struggled to get form against Veronica Hallahan from Dublin and in a low scoring match managed to get over the line with a few small breaks with minutes remaining to get the win 68-43 to meet Annette in the final
The final was a close affair indeed with Christine having chances with 10 minutes to go however Annette held firm and took the win on the alarm 98-84
