Annette Newman Secures her number 1 Ranking on the Amateur Billiards Tour for the seventh season in a row

Annette Newman from Carlow has retained her 7th National Number 1 Ranking on the Amateur National Billiards Tour after another very successful season.

Having won 5 out of the 6 National Billiards Ranking events during the 2022 season, Annette deserves her standing on tour as she continues to dominate the female billiards tour.  Annette is very respectful and aware of the other ladies on tour as they are improving all the time getting closer to her in competition.

While Christine Carr from Kildare has been in 2nd spot and has come close to taking the number 1 place a few times, she will continue to improve, also gaining momentum is Joanna Ward from Kildare who won the 100 Up National Title in 2020 against Annette and has won a ranking event this season, is certainly very capable of a top spot.

Other players such as Tina Keogh from Offaly is always in the mix and after a flawless season on the Intermediate Billiards tour this season winning the Championship and all 4 ranking events is certainly one to watch out for.

Valerie Maloney from Laois who has come back this season playing good billiards as we know she can, is a former two times National Intermediate Champion and will be out to improve her ranking next season.  Stephanie Foley from Carlow was number 1 for two seasons on the Intermediate tour and taking the National Intermediate Championship title this year will have her say when the 2023 season commences

However Annette is now looking to retain the National Billiards League title she won last year and along with that she is hoping to retain her National Amateur Billiards Title for a record 8 seasons in a row before the end of 2022.

Congratulations to Annette on retaining her number 1 ranking so well deserved and a fantastic achievement for the Carlow woman.
