Annette Newman from Carlow continued her winning streak taking the 4th Ranking Billiards event of the season, the Kildare Open at Sharkx Newbridge recently and in doing so making it 3 in a row for the Carlow woman
In the opening session of this round robin timed event, Annette Newman from Carlow had a very close match against Stephanie Foley also from Carlow going all the way to the alarm with Stephanie taking the win by 1 point 45-44. Christine Carr from Kildare got off to a good start against Tina Keogh from Offaly taking the win 51-35 on the alarm
Session 2 we see Christine continue her form against Jennifer Earle from Dublin taking the win 51-38 to keep her in the lead at this point. Tina took the win against Stephanie in a low scoring match on the clock 35-27
Session 3 Annette upped her game and started to play as she can with a number of small breaks she took the win against Tina 87-43 on the alarm while Stephanie took the win against Jennifer in another low scoring match 34-25
In session 4 Annette continued her form against Jennifer taking the win 60-27 while Christine just pipped Stephanie on the alarm 41-38 for the win
In the final session Annette once again was in good form and scoring well each time to the table and Christine also was keeping in touch for a while but towards the end Annette ran away taking the win on the alarm 96-67. Jennifer started to get into her stride against Tina and with some good scores towards the final minutes she took the win on the alarm 49-32
With all the results tallied it would be Annette who would take the win with 287 points with Christine in runner up spot on 210, 3rd place was Tina on 145 and in a very close 4th spot was Stephanie on 144 and Jennifer on 139 so very little between these 3 players
