Annette Newman from Carlow continued her winning streak by taking the Griffith Masters National Billiards Ranking event 3 of the season. This is her second event win in a row and is extending her points at the top of the rankings.
In the first session of the evening, Annette Newman from Carlow got off to a good start against Tina Keogh from Offaly taking the win on the alarm 66-42 in this 30 minute timed event. Christine Carr from Kildare and Joanna Ward also from Kildare had a very close match with Christine just pipping Joanna on the alarm 54-50, likewise Stephanie Foley from Carlow had a close encounter against Valerie Maloney from Laois going all the way to the clock with Stephanie just taking the win 46-39 in a low scoring match
In the 2nd session Annette upped her scoring with a number of small breaks got the win over Valerie with a good score of 93 to 34. Stephanie and Christine had a very close match with Christine just getting a score of 3 on the alarm to take the win 36-34 in another low scoring match. Tina played solid against Joanna who had chances towards the final minutes to get across the line but Tina took the win on the alarm 54-45
Session 3 saw another close finish between Joanna and Annette with Joanna getting a score of 3 on the alarm to take the win 53-51. Stephanie and Tina had a low scoring match with a bout of safety play by both players but Stephanie took the win on the alarm 38-29. Christine held well against Valerie and took the win on the alarm 55-31
The 4th session saw Annette take the win against Stephanie 56-27 while Joanna had her highest 30 minute score to date against Valerie taking the win on the alarm 77-27. Tina just ousted Christine on the clock in another close encounter winning the match 48-45
In the final session of the evening Christine kept close to Annette all the way and with a small score in the final minutes took the win on the alarm 63-53. Tina and Valerie had a draw on the alarm 36-36 and Stephanie upped her game against Joanna to take the win on the alarm 52-38
Once the scores were tallied, it was Annette who took the win on 319 with Joanna in runner up place on 263 followed by Christine in 3rd spot on 253 and Tina in 4th place on 209
