Annette Newman from Carlow continues her good form on the National Amateur Ladies Billiards tour with a good win at the Sharkx Open Billiards Ranking 2 of the season.
In the first session Annette Newman from Carlow got off to a good start with a win over Jennifer Earle from Dublin with a score of 64-25 on the alarm. Stephanie Foley from Carlow had a close match against Valerie Maloney from Laois with a win of 55-44 on the alarm. Christine Carr from Kildare also in fine form against Joanna Ward from Kildare to seal the win on the clock 62-30
The second session saw Annette dictate the match in the last 10 minutes against Stephanie finishing on a score of 77-45 on the clock. Joanna got her first win of the event in a close encounter against Jennifer just pipping her on the alarm 38-34. Valerie got her first win against the current number 2, Christine in yet another very close match 36-34 on the alarm
In session 3 Annette continued her form but had to keep focused as Valerie made a comeback with 10 minutes to go but Annette got in a made a number of small breaks to finish with the win 66-42 on the alarm. Jennifer got her first win on the board as her game improved against Christine finishing on a 52-30 score line, Joanna played well against Stephanie to take the win on the alarm on 67-25
Session 4 would see Annette score well against Joanna and take the win on the alarm 74-34. Christine got back to form against Stephanie to finish 50-38 in a close match while Jennifer took the win against Valerie in another close finish 32-28 on the alarm.
The 5th and final session saw Christine up her game against Annette to take the win on the alarm 67-41 and Stephanie also upped her scoring against Jennifer to win 58-28 on the clock. Joanna would just pip Valerie on the alarm 35-32 in another close encounter.
After all the points were tallied, Annette took the win on the evening with a score of 322 followed in second place by Christine on 243 and Stephanie in a close 3rd on 221 with Joanna taking 4th spot on 204, 5th was Valerie on 182 and Jennifer 6th on 171
