Annette Newman from Carlow won the Inaugural National Snooker League at the RILSA Academy Sharkx Newbridge after 14 weeks of competition.

After the first half of the League, Joanna Ward from Kildare finished on 24 points after good results over Valerie Maloney (Laois) Stephanie Foley (Carlow) and Christine Carr (Kildare) scoring maximum points from these matches while Tina Keogh (Offaly) and Annette Newman (Carlow) would take 2-1 wins over her but Annette dropped points with Christine taking their match win 2-1 and Tina went out to Annette 2-1 to drop points overall.

At the end of the first half it was very close indeed which opened the second half of the League to all the players who were still in contention of winning the League

Annette Newman   23

The second half fixture would see a number of players dropping points as the League progressed, Joanna started to drop a frame here and there which saw the gap closing as Annette began to make up points as she won a number of matches 3 nil to go into the lead as the final two weeks would see 3 players now in contention for runner up place.

It was all down to the results between Joanna V Christine and Tina V Stephanie as the points could have seen a 3 way play off for runner up spot however  Christine won 2-1 against Joanna and Tina won 2-1 against Stephanie to see Joanna take runner up spot

Annette finished on 49 points winning the League Title, Joanna on 44 points to take runner up, Tina on 42 in 3rd spot with Christine on 40 points to finish 4th, so very close indeed
