The National 9 Ball Pool Championship was won by Christine Carr from Kildare at the RILSA Academy Sharkx Newbridge back in December 2021
This inaugural event in pool is a new addition to the RILSA calendar as we make progress in female cue sports here in Ireland.
In the round robin matches that would eventually see a winner or two players compete for the title went very well with each player playing each other in 5 frames. Session 1 saw Annette Newman from Carlow get off to a good start taking the win 3-2 against Elizabeth Lynch from Offaly. Stephanie Foley from Carlow saw off Christine Carr in their match 4-1
Session 2 Annette continued her form against Stephanie to win 3-2 while Christine was in fine form against Elizabeth to take the win 4-1
The final session would see Christine take the win over Annette 5-0 and Stephanie take the win over Elizabeth 3-2 giving Christine the win by 1 frame with Stephanie taking runner up spot.
Congratulations to Christine on her win and well done to Stephanie on a fine performance, thanks to all the girls for their support in participation. Thanks to Bernie, Paul and staff of Sharkx for providing excellent facilities and their support as always. We hope to see a bigger group for this event in 2022 as the situation with covid-19 affected a number of players attending.
