The final National Ranking event of the 2023-2024 season the Griffith Cup was won by Claire Mill from Dublin, this is her second National Ranking event win on the RILSA Tour

In the prelim round Stephanie Foley from Carlow had a good 2 nil win over Valerie Maloney from Laois to make it through to the Quarters.  Christ Carr and Joanna Ward both from Kildare had a close encounter with the match 1-1 it would come down to the colours to see who would go into the Quarters and it was Christine who prevailed to advance.

Jackie Trulock and Jennifer Earle both from Dublin had a similar encounter in their match going all the way to the colours in the final frame in which Jackie took to move into the Quarters

In the Quarters Annette Newman from Carlow  had a good 2 nil win over Veronica Hallahan from Dublin for a semi final place.  Stephanie had a close match against Delia Keane from Dublin going all the way to a pink ball to take the win and a meeting with Annette in the semis

At the bottom half of the draw Christine played well to overcome a 2 nil score line against Jackie to advance to the semis and Claire Mill from Dublin had a good 2 nil win over Grushenka Arnold from Dublin to complete the semi final line up

Annette took frame 1 comfortable but Stephanie played well in the second to level the match 1-1 however Annette drew on all her experience and won frame 3 for a place in the final.  On the other table Claire played well to get a 2 nil win over Christine and to meet Annette in the final

In the final Annette struggled to get form and while it was a close match it would be Claire to take the win 2 frames to nil

This event will see the final rankings for the season finalised with only the top 16 making it through to the Championship on Saturday 4th May which will be the start of our new season 2024-2025. We will be publishing the list over the coming week
