While Dave Causier dominated proceedings at the SBI Academy Carlow over the past week with fantastic displays in all his matches throughout and in the final against Sourav Kothari from India 8-2 in the Macau Casino World Matchplay, we congratulate Dave on his win and well done to the organisers, sponsors, players and officials who made the weeks competition in Carlow such a great success
Our very own Aidan Murray and Billiard Coach was delighted with his performance in reaching his second quarter final of the week. His opponent in the quarters was Dave Causier who simply was on fire and fired in big breaks to see off Aidan 6 nil in their match
We were delighted to see female participation up on last years event with two females from Singapore in Lily liew and Serene Ong refereeing throughout the week along with two from Ireland in Stephanie Foley and Annette Newman
Three female players took part in the event Annette Newman from Ireland, Michelle Cohen from Scotland and Anna Lynch from Australia all helped raise the profile of female participation in cue sports
