Jennifer Earle from Dublin won her first National Intermediate Billiards event at the RILSA Academy Sharkx Newbridge recently.

In session 1 Jennifer Earle from Dublin played exceptional billiards against the current National Intermediate Champion Valerie Maloney from Laois with strong scoring at every visit to the table, keeping Valerie from coming back in the 30 minute match to finish on the alarm 69-29.  Stephanie Foley from Carlow continued her advance towards taking the number 1 spot on the Intermediate rankings this season with a good win over Tina Keogh from Offaly on the alarm 42-35 in a close match.

Session 2 saw Tina up her scoring against Valerie to take the win in their round robin match 54-38 while on the other table Stephanie and Jennifer kept it close all the way finishing in a draw on the alarm 38-38

Session 3 would see Valerie get into her stride as we know she can, leading well over the first 20 minutes however Stephanie fought back but was just pipped on the alarm by Valerie 44-39.  Tina would take her second win on the evening in a very close encounter with Jennifer on the alarm 34-30

After the points were tallied, Jennifer came out the winner on 137 points closely followed by Tina on 123 with Stephanie in 3rd on 119 and Valerie 4th on 111.  Close finish indeed

Congratulations to Jennifer on her win and to Tina on a fine performance, thanks to all the girls for their support and to Bernie, Paul and staff of Sharkx Newbridge for all their help.
