Joanna Ward from Kildare won the Championship Plate Snooker Competition at the RILSA Academy Sharkx recently as part of our National Amateur Snooker Championship day
In the prelim round Joanna Ward from Kildare saw off a challenge from Christine Carr from Kildare to advance to the semis while on the other table Margaret Browne from Meath took the win against Veronica Hallahan from Dublin to advance to the semis
In the semis Margaret Browne from Meath got the better of Jackie Trulock from Dublin to take the frame needed for a place in the final. Joanna was in fine form against the youngster Qianhui Ye from Wicklow and won the frame needed to meet Margaret in the final
The final saw both players neck and neck down to the colours with Joanna taking pink and black for frame and match
