The 2022 National Ladies Billiards League is more than half way through with Annette Newman from Carlow leading the way just ahead of Christine Carr from Kildare in second place as we reached the half way point in the league.
Annette Newman from Carlow takes her first win against Valerie Maloney from Laois as the alarm sounded 190 – 101 while Tina Keogh from Offaly had a very close scoring win over Christine Carr from Kildare 144 – 140
Annette continued her good form against Joanna Ward from Kildare to take the win 174 – 114. Christine got her first win against Valerie 172 -119. Annette had to draw on all her experience against Tina to take the win on the alarm 153 – 139 and Joanna just pipped Valerie on the clock 155 – 145
Annette had another close match against Christine taking her 4th win on the bell 154 -147 and Joanna took a close win over Tina on the bell 144 – 131. Christine held firm against Joanna to take the win in their match 152 – 129 and Tina ran out the winner against Valerie on the alarm 127 – 90. Unfortunately Stephanie Foley from Carlow had to withdraw from the league due to injury and we wish Stephanie a speedy recovery and look forward to seeing her back on tour soon. All the players received a 100 point win over Stephanie.
Annette is ahead on 771 points with Christine in a close second on 711. Joanna is only 1 point ahead of Tina in 3rd spot on 642 and Joanna on 641 so very close and following her is Valerie on 555. With the second half of the league underway its still all up for grabs. We wish everyone the best of luck
