As we move into the New Year the Republic of Ireland Ladies Snooker Association’s 2023-2024 season is now into its last few months of the Snooker Tour. With only two National Ranking events remaining on our calendar, it will all come down to these important events to see who finishes within the top 16 in order to qualify for the National Amateur Championship in May 2024
On the current provisional rankings, Sandra Bryan from Wexford is at number 1 up from 10th last season, so a great season so far for Sandra. Annette Newman from Carlow is at 2 spot just down one from last season where she is the current Irish number 1. Holding her number 3 place from last season is Claire Mill from Dublin and just down from 2nd place last season to 4th so far is Cathy Dunne from Dublin
Up from 15th place last season is Valerie Maloney from Laois showing a great season for her. Newcomer to the tour last season is Jackie Trulock from Dublin who finished number 29 last year is now provisionally holding 6th spot. Jennifer Earle from Dublin is up to 7th place so far from 12th last year and completing the top 8 is Stephanie Foley from Carlow up from 14th place last season
In 9th place so far is Margaret O’Driscoll from Kerry only down one place from last season. Also Down the rankings is Tina Keogh from Offaly to 10th from 5th place and Christine Carr from Kildare is down from 6th to 11th. Louise Maher from Kilkenny is down from 4th to 12th so far. Newcomer Veronica Hallahan from Dublin is in at 14 spot so far, Jessica Beatty from Kildare is up from 18th place to 15th spot and completing the provisional top 16 is Emma Daly from Kildare up from 20th to 16 spot
However players from 10th down on the current provisional list are not guaranteed to remain in the top 16 and will have to play in the last two events of the season to ensure qualification for the Championship.
Joanna Ward from Kildare has dropped out from 7th last season to 25th so far, Elizabeth Lynch from Offaly is also down to 26th place from 9th last season. Louise Jordan from Meath is down from 13th to 36th place and Margaret Browne from Meath is down from 16th to 24th, these players need to play in the next two events in order to have a chance to get back into the top 16 and its not too late for them
