The recent WDBS Irish Open was hailed a great success at the SBI Academy in Carlow recently. With players from around the World taking part.
Thanks to the TD Stewart Barker and his team who do great work on behalf of the WDBS
Thanks to SBI for hosting this great event for the second year and hopefully this will become a annual event here in Ireland. Dylan Rees is the man behind the scenes here doing great work in developing the sport in Ireland. Thanks to Dylan for all his hard work.
Thanks to all the referees who officiated over the weekend, they did great work in helping the smooth running of the event. Neil Shanahan and the SBI Referees did us proud. We at Female Cue Sports Ireland were delighted to see many of our panel of referees officiating once more at this event in Carlow. Through the partnership with SBI this has been a very successful development and we hope it continues.
While all referees are SBI referees, it is good to see both organisations coming together for the betterment of the sport and supporting each other as we make progress building a great future for cue sports in Ireland
Thanks to Fergal O’Brien who was on hand to present prizes and certs to all the players. Deaf Sports Ireland made history with Fran Coyle who is the first deaf player to represent Ireland at this event and we hope to see more players come through in the future
Congratulations to all the winners and everyone who participated and of course all the supporters, families, friends who added to the atmosphere over the weekend in Carlow
We were delighted to see one of our RILSA member special schools attend the SBI Academy on the Friday morning where they had a great few hours of play and coaching from World Snooker Coaches PJ Nolan, Dan Carroll and World Billiards Coach Aidan Murray. The teachers and students of St Marks Special School in Newbridge were delighted with the day
