Valerie Maloney from Laois won the Intermediate Snooker Plate Competition at the RILSA Academy Sharkx Newbridge recently

At the semi final stage Valerie Maloney from Laois had a good win over Brigid Mulvany from Dublin to advance to the final and on the other table our National U21 Snooker Champion Qianhui Ye from Wicklow saw off a challenge from an experienced player in Christine Carr from Kildare in their semi final match to go through to meet Valerie in the final

In the final Qianhui had chances to close out the frame needed to take the win but Valerie showed experience in picking off the colours to take the frame and match

Congratulations to Valerie on her win and well done to Qianhui on reaching the final.  Thanks to Martin Foley for refereeing the final and thanks to all the ladies who participated.  Thanks to Bernie, Paul and staff of Sharkx for all their support
