Female Cue Sports Ireland held their 4th Girls development day at the RILSA Academy Sharkx Newbridge recently with another class from the Holy Family School in Newbridge.
All these girls joined the organisation along with the previous classes that attended our development days over the past number of Months.
Again the students were introduced to both snooker and billiards by World Professional Coaches Dan Carroll (Snooker) and Aidan Murray (Billiards)
With the basics of both games explained and demonstrated to the students who were very excited to get playing cue sports. We encouraged fun games and the importance of participation and social interaction that will benefit young girls in sport, either just as a fun day out at the Academy or they can enter events on tour should they wish.
We were delighted to see so many young girls show great interest in cue sports and that many of them will be back to the Academy in the near future.
Already a number of the girls participated in the recent National U21 Snooker Championship and did their school and county proud
We wish to thank all the girls for their participation, interest and support and we wish them well for the future. Thanks to Dearbhail Dowling of the Holy Family School along with the Principal Sarah Allen and all the teachers at the school for their support and we look forward to seeing many of the girls come to the Academy in the weeks and months ahead
