Annette Newman from Carlow won the 6th National Billiards Ranking event of the season at the RILSA Academy Sharkx Newbridge recently, winning 5 out of 6 events keeping her the number 1 ranked player in Ireland for the 7th season in a row, a fantastic achievement for her.

Session 1 saw Christine Carr from Kildare win a close match against Stephanie Foley from Carlow as the seconds ticked away to finish 60-54.  Annette Newman from Carlow also had a close match against Tina Keogh from Offaly to take the win on the bell 56-47 in this timed round robin event.

In session 2 Tina kept ahead of Christine all the way to finish with the win on the alarm 57-40 while Annette upped her game against Stephanie to take the win 79-37 on the bell.

Session 3 saw Annette keep to her form against Christine who was playing well to take her 3rd win on the evening 72-62 on the alarm.  Stephanie and Tina were neck and neck all the way to the bell when Stephanie scored a cannon to pip Tina 54-53

When the points were tallied, it would be Annette who would take the win with Christine in runner up place.  Tina finished 3rd with Stephanie 4th

Congratulations to Annette on her win and retaining her number 1 spot for the seventh season and well done to Christine on her runner up place and in doing so finishes number 2 on the rankings for the season.  Thanks to all the girls for their support and participation and thanks to Bernie, Paul and staff of Sharkx for all their help and support.
