Annette Newman from Carlow continued her dominance on the RILBA National Amateur Billiards Tour winning event 6 the Leinster Open recently making it 5 in a row out of the 6 events of the season, an amazing achievement for the Carlow woman
At the semi final stage of this timed knockout event Annette Newman from Carlow was playing well against Jess Curran from Kildare in their match finishing with a number of 20+ breaks to take the win on the alarm 145-26 for a place in the final. It was a good event for Jess who is only on the tour a short while but is showing promise after getting to the semis
On the other table Christine Carr from Kildare had a good win over the ever improving Brigid Mulvany from Dublin taking the win on the alarm 83-42 to meet Annette in the Final
In the final Annette continued her good scoring in particular during the final minutes with another bout of 20+ breaks against Christine who was playing well at the start but Annette finished with the win on the alarm 172 – 107

Annette now finished her 11th season as Irish Amateur Billiards number 1 a record that will be hard to beat and not forgetting Christine who like Annette finished her 11th season as Irish Amateur number 2 another record that will be difficult to beat, well done to both players who have shown great dedication over the past 11 years on the National Amateur Billiards Tour
