The first ever Scholarship for Females in Cue Sports was established at Maynooth University on Friday 22nd November 2024. This is history in the making and another positive milestone for Female Cue Sports as we at RILSA continue with our plan for the future
This Scholarship will give access to Maynooth University through our National School Membership going forward. Jennifer Earle our current National U21 Snooker Champion was presented with the Scholarship, she is currently attending Maynooth University.
The Scholarship is worth up to 60 valuable CAO points towards their MU course of choice, subject to matriculation with minimum 300 points on own merit. Note that it cannot be automatically applied to MH001 or MH002 (Primary Teaching)
This is a fantastic opportunity for any young girl wishing to avail of a Scholarship at Maynooth in the future. However there will be a set criteria through Female Cue Sports Ireland in order to obtain a place on this Scholarship. This will be available early 2025 and delivered to our member schools
During the day at Maynooth University, the RILSA Stand was well attended with much interest in female cue sports along with many school teachers interested in learning more about our Organisation, we got some very positive feedback from many attending the open day at Maynooth. Thousands of students from all over Ireland were on campus over the two days
I want to thank Paul Davis of Maynooth University and his team behind the scenes for their support and commitment to this Scholarship. We wish Jennifer every success at Maynooth and we look forward to seeing many young girls take this opportunity in the future
Thanks to Adam Hanlon the President of the Snooker and Pool Club at Maynooth University for his support and we wish Adam every success at Maynooth also.
