Sandra Bryan from Wexford added the National 10 Red Snooker Championship title to her recent National 6 Red Snooker Championship title in a fine display of snooker at the Celbridge Snooker Club.

Sandra who is just back from Morocco after winning the World Shootout Championship with her team made up of Carrie Randle, Megan Randle, Mary Duffy Lowbridge, Katie Kiernan and Danielle Greasley, continues her form in female cue sports

In the last 16 stage of the event, Margaret Browne from Meath had a solid 2 nil win over Stephanie Foley from Carlow to go through to the Quarters also going through was Sandra Bryan from Wexford after a good 2 nil win over Jackie Trulock from Dublin.  Annette Newman from Carlow went through to the Quarters over Grushenka Arnold from Dublin and Christine Carr from Kildare had a good 2 nil win over Jennifer Earle from Dublin to complete the Quarter Final line up

Cathy Dunne from Dublin and the current holder of the title had a good 2 nil win over Veronica Hallahan also from Dublin to advance to the semis,  Sandra continued her advance in the event after a close encounter against Margaret with a 2 nil win to meet Cathy in the semis.  Christine played well to take the first against Annette on a black ball but Annette levelled the match 1-1, however Christine kept it close again all the way to a black ball and took it to reach the semi finals.  Claire Mill from Dublin had a close match against Louise Maher from Kilkenny with the match level it would go all the way to a pink ball with Louise taking it to meet Christine in the semis

In the semis Sandra and Cathy levelled at 1-1 with frame 3 going all the way to yet another pink ball decider and it was Sandra who potted it for game and a place in the final.  The match between Christine and Louise was similar again level at 1-1 and going to a black ball in the 3rd for Christine to get through to the final

In the final Sandra won the first on the colours in this best of 3 frame final, the second frame went all the way to a black ball with Christine having a number of chances to pot but unfortunately left it hanging over the top right pocket for Sandra to drop it in and take the win and title of RILSA National 10 Red Snooker Champion 2023

Congratulations to Sandra on her win and well done to Christine on her fine performance throughout.  Thanks to all the ladies for their participation and support.  It was great to see Margaret Browne back to competition and we hope to see more of her during the season
