Two and a half years out from competition due to Covid-19, we at the Republic of Ireland Ladies Snooker Association are delighted to welcome the students from St Marks Special School Newbridge back to our Academy at Sharkx Newbridge.

The School itself has a full size table that is back in use on a daily basis and the students are very keen to get back to playing in events during the season ahead.  Aidan Murray visits the school a few times each week to coach and encourage the students to take up cue sports.

Almost all of the students have played snooker and really enjoy it.

RILSA held a practice day at our Academy recently with 10 students attending, all had a great time and are looking forward to future events.

Thanks to Mary Teresa who supports our endeavours and encourages the students to play cue sports.

The National Special Needs Ladies Snooker Championship will be held in October next and we are looking forward to welcoming all the girls to the event.  An event for all the boys at the school will be held at Sharkx also in conjunction with Stars Academy Ireland promotions through their School initiatives
