Tina Keogh from Offaly and our current National Intermediate Billiards Champion continued her winning streak when she won the second National Intermediate Billiards Ranking event at the RILSA Academy Sharkx Newbridge recently
Tina won her round robin matches on the evening against Valerie Maloney from Laois and Stephanie Foley from Carlow in closely contested timed games with a 39-21 over Stephanie and 52-37over Valerie. Stephanie would take runner up spot with just 3 points separating her from Valerie.
Tina extends her points at the top of the Intermediate Rankings for the first time followed in 2nd spot by Stephanie, Valerie 3rd place and holding 4th is Jennifer Earle from Dublin.
Tina hopes to finish number 1 for 2022 and this second win has put her in a good position to do just that but there are a number of events yet to be played and its not easy as the remaining players are all very capable indeed in particular Valerie Maloney who holds the record of Irish Number 1 Intermediate Billiards player for 3 years in a row and of course Stephanie will be out to gain back her number 1 spot from last season while not forgetting the youngster Jennifer who is gaining ground all the time and is well poised for a higher position.
Other players who are in the mix are Michelle French, Louise Maher, Roisin Beale and Lauren Carley once they get back to competition soon. We hope to have a few newcomers to Intermediate Billiards during the season.
Congratulations to Tina on her win and to Stephanie on her runner up place. We thank all our players for their support as always. Thanks to Bernie, Paul and staff of Sharkx for their help and support towards female cue sports.
