Annette Newman from Carlow won her second National Billiards Ranking Event of the season making it two in a row out of the three events to date. Joanna Ward from Kildare was the runner up in the event
In this timed knockout event Annette Newman got off to a good start with a win over Brigid Mulvany from Dublin taking the match 91-36 on the alarm in this quarter final game on the other table Joanna Ward from Dublin saw off a challenge from Veronica Hallahan from Dublin to go through to the semis 93-77 on the alarm
At the semi final stage Annette Newman from Carlow saw off a good challenge from Natalia Trochonowicz from Kildare on the alarm 106-85 for a place in the final. On the other table Joanna Ward from Kildare was in good form and took the win on the alarm against Christine Carr from Kildare 119-99 to meet Annette in the final
In the final both players were very close as the minutes ticked down but Annette held firm to take the win on the alarm 87-79
