As we at Female Cue Sports Ireland continue our project on filming for our 4oth year celebrations Documentary.  We held a days long shoot at our Academy Sharkx Newbridge with our Coaches, Referees, representatives from a number of Schools where we have set up Academies.  Reports on our Academies to follow in the weeks ahead

Joanna Byrne TD attended the day and we are delighted to have Joanna on board giving support towards female cue sports.  A resounding success for all involved and showcasing the great work done by the Board of Female Cue Sports Ireland in growing the sport at grassroot level as we head towards 1,300 members in the weeks ahead.  Thanks to our 40 female coaches that are now involved at School level, we already see the progress with 48 young girls who participated in our U21 Championships in Snooker, Billiards and Pool last November.  We are certain the numbers will grow further in the near future

Here is what she had to say on her visit to Our National Academy for Female Cue Sports here in Ireland

Enjoyed a great trip to Newbridge on Monday visiting Female Cue Sports Ireland as part of their 40th Anniversary celebrations 🎉
I was blown away by the vibrancy of their Academy where they really do champion women’s participation in cue sports 👏🏼
This was evident by the wide ranging age demographic of their membership; from young schoolgirls to the not-so-young stalwarts, and beginners to champions – all committed to promoting and evolving the female game in both Snooker and Billiards.
I’ve been working with this group for a while now, and remain committed to seeing them attain recognition, funding and adequate support for the growing number of young women in this country taking to playing cue sports 💪🏼
I even got a few lessons from the exceptionally talented Annette Newman✨
