Joanna Ward from Kildare won the 6th National Amateur Billiards Ranking Event of the season at the RILSA Academy Sharkx Newbridge recently
In this two groups timed event. In session 1 Group 1 Annette Newman from Carlow got off to a good start against Jackie Trulock from Dublin and with Annette scoring well took the win on the alarm 73-18 on the other table Delia Keane from Dublin had a comfortable win over Savannah Keane from Dublin finishing 52-13 on the alarm. In group 2 Joanna Ward from Kildare had a good win over Veronica Hallahan from Dublin on the alarm 47-32
The second session saw Annette continue her good form with a win over Delia on the clock 56-37, Jackie just pipped Savannah on the alarm by 2 points in a good match 40-38. Veronica had a good win over Christine Carr from Kildare in group 2 on the alarm 46-40
The 3rd and final session of the group stages Annette completed 3 wins by taking the match against Savannah 73-36 on the clock for a place in the final and Delia would come out the winner against Jackie on the alarm 58-33. Joanna ousted Christine in their match 61-40 on the alarm to see her through to the final
In the final Joanna started well going 20 ahead but Annette came back to be in touching distance of Joanna but with 10 minutes remaining Joanna scored well to finish with the win on the alarm 89-61
