Joanna Ward from Kildare won the 2nd National Snooker Intermediate Ranking event of the season in Newbridge recently. This is Joanna’s fifth event win on the Intermediate tour since she started a number of years ago, a great result for the Kildare Woman
In the quarter final stage of the event Grushenka Arnold from Dublin had a good win over Valerie Maloney from Laois to advance, Joanna Ward from Kildare had a good win also against newcomer Veronica Hallahan from Dublin to meet Grushenka in the semis
The other end of the draw saw Tina Keogh from Offaly getting a bye and Jackie Trulock from Dublin overcame a strong challenge from Stephanie Foley from Carlow to see her win the frame needed and to meet Tina in the semis.
Joanna played solid snooker against Grushenka in the semis and took the win and a place in the final, Jackie had a close match against Tina but took the frame needed to meet Joanna in the Final.
The final itself was close for the most part however Joanna would finish the stronger on the day and take the win
Congratulations to Joanna on her win and well done to Jackie on her runner up place. Thanks to all the ladies for their participation and a big thank you to Bernie, Paul and staff of Sharkx for their support as always.
