Stephanie Foley from Carlow won her first National championship title recently at the RILSA Academy Sharkx Newbridge, taking the National Intermediate Billiards Championship.
Stephanie who has been on both the Billiards and Snooker Tours since 2017 has made great progress in both cue sports. While she has won two ranking events at Intermediate snooker in the past and won two events in Intermediate Billiards over the past two seasons and has been knocking on the door of the Championship having had a great season with 3 runner up places out of 4, the National Intermediate Billiards Championship title is well deserved to finish off the 2022 season.
During the round robin matches Stephanie had a close match against Jennifer Earle (Dublin) finishing on the bell 49-39 but her match against two times Champion Valerie Maloney from Laois was her best performance to date winning on the alarm 90-54 to take the title.
Valerie took runner up place on the evening after sealing a very close match against Jennifer 56-54 on the bell
Congratulations to Stephanie on her win and well done to Valerie on her fine performance, thanks to all the girls for their support and participation throughout the season. Thanks as always to Bernie, Paul and staff of Sharkx for all their support.
