Stephanie Foley from Carlow retained her National Intermediate Billiards Championship title recently at the RILSA Academy Sharkx Newbridge
In this timed round robin event Stephanie Foley from Carlow got off to a good start with a good win over newcomer Savannah Keane from Dublin finishing on 73-14 while on the other table newcomer Delia Keane from Dublin levelled on the alarm against Jennifer Earle from Dublin 35-35
In the second session Jennifer scored well against Stephanie and as the seconds clocked down Jennifer got a few small breaks to finish with the win 44-34. Delia would just pip Savannah on the clock in a low scoring match to take the win 35-32
The 3rd and final session would see Jennifer just pip Savannah on the alarm in another low scoring match 28-25 and Stephanie made ground in the final minutes in her match against Delia to take the win an the alarm 53-38
With the scores tallied it would be Stephanie who would finish with the win and retains her title, however runner up place was so close indeed with Delia taking it from Jennifer by just 1 point while it was disappointing for Jennifer, Delia was delighted to get runner up place and a medal for her efforts on the evening.
Congratulations to Stephanie on retaining her title and well done to Delia on her runner up place. Thanks to all the girls for their support and thanks as always to Bernie, Paul and staff of Sharkx for all their support. Thank you to Dave Earle for refereeing during the event
