Stephanie Foley from Carlow won the final National Intermediate Billiards ranking event of the season in Newbridge recently. Stephanie who is the current National Intermediate Billiards Champion now finishes the season number 1 for the second time. She is looking forward to the Championship where she hopes to retain her title
In the first session of this round robin timed event, Stephanie Foley from Carlow had a good win over Jackie Trulock from Dublin a newcomer to the Tour, finishing strong 53-27. Veronica Hallahan from Dublin and a newcomer to the Tour also scored well against Valerie Maloney from Laois to take her first win on tour in a low scoring match on the alarm 32-21
Session two would see Stephanie struggle to get over the line against Veronica and with seconds on the clock she just pipped her to take the win 34-30. Jennifer Earle from Dublin took on Jackie in her first match and the scoring was low with both players finishing in a draw on the alarm 25-25
In session 3 Stephanie continued her winning streak taking the win against Jennifer 42-29 while Jackie got her highest score on the tour with a good win over Valerie on the alarm 57-16 and her first win also
The 4th session saw both Valerie and Stephanie up their scoring and with minutes remaining Stephanie got over the line to take the win 59-53 Veronica got her second win of the event by just 1 point on the alarm against Jennifer 31-30
The final session saw a low scoring match between Veronica and Jackie with Veronica taking the win 24-12. Valerie continued her good scoring against Jennifer and won their match on the alarm 48-25
With the scores tallied it would be Stephanie who took the win and even though Valerie started slow she finished strong to take runner up place
